Joan Lasselle

Joan Lasselle grew the company from a two-person firm to a provider of information and learning services that has served over 700 clients. Joan is a pioneer in self-paced and computer-based training materials as well as usability testing. She has over 25 years experience developing new product content and training for high tech, healthcare, finance and insurance industries. She is a senior member of STC, a past board member of CMPros, and a regular contributor at industry conferences. Joan serves on the Women's Business Enterprise National Council's (WBENC) Leadership Forum and in 2004 was recognized by WBENC as one of 14 national business stars. In 2003, the San Jose Business Journal recognized Lasselle-Ramsay as one of the top 60 women-owned businesses in Silicon Valley. Joan holds an M.Ed. from the University of Oregon.





Julie Poimiroo

Director of Finance

Prior to coming to Lasselle-Ramsay in 2000, Julie worked for Guzik Technical Enterprises as Director of Finance and Administration and Sales Manager, and as a Controller for various electronics and logistics companies in Silicon Valley. During 12 years in France, she worked for Booz, Allen Hamilton and for the 1980 Russian Olympic Coin Program.

Julie has a BA in Sociology from Santa Clara University and an MBA in Finance from Golden Gate University.





Jana Humphreys

Director of Operations

Jana Humphreys works with clients to design targeted learning and content solutions. Over the years she has worked on hundreds of curriculum design, custom training development, and technical documentation projects for a variety of organizations in the banking, finance, insurance, biotech, medical device, high-tech, and retail industries. This content has supported the successful implementation of new technologies, processes, jobs, services, and products.

Jana began her training career in 1990 in the Corporate Quality Training department at Tandem Computers. In 1993, she joined a training consulting firm as a trainer and instructional designer and quickly moved into a Project Manager role. In 2002 she joined the Lasselle-Ramsay team as a Project Manager and led the Learning Practices area. In her current role as Director of Operations, Jana leads the client services team, working with all project managers to ensure excellent client service and she liaises with Sales, HR, and Finance to improve operational efficiencies.

Jana grew up in Sunnyvale and watched Silicon Valley grow up around her. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Radio and Television/Broadcast Communications Art from San Francisco State University, and a Master's degree in Education/Instructional Technology from San Jose State University. Jana currently lives in Fremont with her husband and daughter.





John Little

Portal Development Project Manager

John Little manages the Hewlett-Packard Techport project for Lasselle-Ramsay. He has a diverse background, having worked in Human Resources, IT, Finance, and Customer Support at Syntex, SGI, 3Com, Palm, and Cisco. John finds that his combination of analytical skills, communication ability, and cross-functional experience are a strong asset in his role as an LR Project Manager.

John has a Master’s degree in Psychology. He tries using his psychology skills on his pet tarantula, Edwina, without much success.





Tom Voltz

Technology Manager

Tom Voltz came on staff in mid-February of 2005 as Manager of Technology. Tom brings to Lasselle-Ramsay over 15 years of experience implementing technology solutions for a range of companies, from small start-ups to large corporations. Tom provides Lasselle-Ramsay with technical expertise for internal projects and acts as a consultant to clients. Tom states, "I really enjoy providing value to Lasselle-Ramsay and our clients by leveraging a range of technologies that solve business problems effectively and efficiently." He is continually looking for ways to improve the application of technology at Lasselle-Ramsay and is open to input.

Tom grew up in San Francisco, where he attended Lowell High, and then went back east to attend Swarthmore College. Tom currently resides in San Francisco, where in his spare time he enjoys sailing, and has logged over 10,000 miles in the Pacific Ocean.





Chris Smith

Content Tools Specialist

Chris Smith, Content Tools SpecialistChris came to Lasselle-Ramsay in 2001 as a Production Specialist. In 2002 he was promoted to Production Coordinator. Chris wore many hats in that role, from formatting and laying out documentation and training materials to coordinating and scheduling desktop publishing jobs and resources. In 2005 he decided to move in a new direction with LR and became the Web Content Specialist with the HP CPC project. In this project he has been able to utilize his desktop publishing and graphic design experience and apply it to the realm of HTML- and XML-based on-line documentation.

Chris has a BA in history from San Francisco State University. Prior to coming to Lasselle-Ramsay Chris worked for a small publishing company for several years. Chris grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and currently resides in Foster City with his wife and daughter.





Loran Peterman

Production Coordinator

Loran Peterman, Production Coordinator“Good judgment comes from experience, and often experience comes from bad judgment.” —Rita Mae Brown

Loran serves as Lasselle-Ramsay production coordinator. Her duties include managing the schedule and tracking projects for Lasselle-Ramsay clients. Loran works with Lasselle-Ramsay project teams to ensure that client deadlines are met. Loran is proficient in a wide variety of applications including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Project, Tutor, Dreamweaver, FrameMaker, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PageMaker, Acrobat, and Quark. She has over 15 years of experience in client, vendor, and project management. Her expertise includes document production, from outlining scope of project to distribution of end product in print and online. This work included the coordination of contributions from technical authors and the management of an MS Access database used to produce printed and online materials through Miramo and FrameMaker.





Emily Garcia

Recruiting/Ops Assistant

Emily Donner, Recruiting/Ops Assistant“It is better to sleep on things beforehand than lie awake about them afterward.” —Baltasar Gracian

Emily joined the Lasselle-Ramsay team in September 2008 as Recruiting and Operations Assistant. Her position encompasses a wide variety of activities including recruiting, marketing & sales support, and assisting with current projects. She maintains the LR database of resources, edits the employee newsletter, and participates in new and continuing marketing initiatives.

Emily has previous experience as a Human Resources generalist at Standard Structures in Sonoma County. She has a BA in Psychology and Communication from UC Santa Barbara and is certified as a Professional in Human Resources.
