Turn words into acts

90% of success in life is just showing up.   Maybe the other 10% is putting up.  At Lasselle-Ramsay, we act on this by donating a portion of our profits and our time to worthy causes in our local community. Lasselle-Ramsay corporate giving and community involvement are strong components of our core beliefs and identity.

Some organizations we support are:

  • Haiti Earthquake Relief
  • Room to Read. This group works to establish libraries and reading programs in developing countries, fostering positive change through literacy.
  • The drama department at an inner-city Oakland school
  • U.S.M.C. Toys for Tots. Each year in November and December, LR collects new toys from its staff, and neighbors for the Toys for Tots program.
  • Computer Recycling Center. Each year, LR donates obsolete computer equipment to this organization. It's green!

Here are some additional programs and organizations we've supported. Please visit their sites and learn how they make the world a better place.

Donors Choose

Lasselle-Ramsay has supported several projects through Donors Choose in the past 2 - 3 years. We have focused on projects in schools in low income areas in Alameda and San Francisco counties. On one project, we provided the students with protractors and compasses for their math classes. For another project, we donated journals to students beginning journal writing. In yet another project, we provided a selection of books that the teacher could read to her first grade class. Last year, Donors Choose was recognized as one of the top Philanthropic organizations by American Express cardholders and received a sizable donation from American Express. For information on how Donors Choose works, visit their site at DonorsChoose.org.

Second Harvest Food Bank

For the past few years, LR has organized a food drive in our office building complex during the months of October and November. The Second Harvest folks pick up the overflowing barrels for holiday food deliveries. In addition to the food drive, the LR staff has volunteered at the San Carlos facility of Second Harvest in December, preparing food boxes for children enrolled in an afterschool program in San Mateo County. We urge you to consider participating in this worthy program too. For more information visit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties website.
