Genentech Partners With Lasselle-Ramsay for Staff Training

Situation

Genentech, Inc. ranks among the world's leading biotechnology companies. Submission of vast amounts of documentation to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and other regulatory agencies around the world is an absolute requirement for getting Genentech's innovative products to market. These submissions are the responsibility of Genentech's Regulatory Affairs department.
Challenge

The Regulatory Affairs department needed to train new hires, as they typically came into the department from other positions in the company or from Regulatory Affairs positions in other pharmaceutical companies. These employees had to come up to speed quickly on Genentech's culture, department structure, and submission procedures.
Solution

Genentech's "Training Camp Team" selected Lasselle-Ramsay to develop the courseware because of their professionalism and the excellent work they had done for their clients.
Working collaboratively with the Genentech team, Lasselle-Ramsay developed a new-hire training package that included:
- Six 2- to 3-hour modules
- A general orientation to the department
- Specific modules tailored to meet the needs of each of the five functional groups within the Regulatory Affairs department
- A flexible training format, which could be conducted as an instructor-led workshop or presented in one-on-one sessions
- An online reference capability
